Woman dies after being hit in crosswalk
A 61-year-old woman died from internal injuries after she was struck Friday morning while walking in Waikele.
The woman was in a marked crosswalk at Lumiaina Street at about 7 a.m. when she was struck by a Hummer traveling east at the intersection that connects Waikele Premium Outlets and Waikele Shopping Center, said Lt. Robert Towne of the Honolulu Police Department’s Traffic Division.
The victim was a woman from Washington state staying with family in Waikele, Towne said. She died at Pali Momi Medical Center shortly after being taken there by an emergency crew. The driver of the Hummer was a 40-year-old Waipahu woman, he said.
The death was the 50th recorded on Oahu roads so far this year. There were 46 fatals at this time in 2011.
Man charged with stabbing older relative
A 21-year-old man suspected of stabbing a 42-year-old relative at their Whitmore Village home Wednesday has been charged with second-degree attempted murder.
Rockne Enosara was charged Friday and is being held on $50,000 bail.
Police said Enosara allegedly stabbed the older man in the chest with a knife during an argument. Enosara fled on foot but was located and arrested nearby. The victim was transported in serious condition to the Queen’s Medical Center, where he was later upgraded to stable condition.
Attack on husband results in charges
Prosecutors charged a 54-year-old Aiea woman Thursday with second-degree attempted murder for allegedly stabbing her husband Wednesday at an Aiea apartment complex.
Police arrested Shu-Na Hsiao 3:23 a.m. Wednesday at 98-245 Moanalua Road.
Police said the woman allegedly stabbed her husband with a knife at about 2:45 a.m. Wednesday. Hsiao’s husband, 58, was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Police said he apparently was stabbed multiple times by his wife.

Condo manager bound, beaten
Maui County police opened an attempted-murder investigation after patrol officers found an unconscious man tied up with duct tape with head and facial injuries in a Kihei condominium Friday morning.
Officers found the 59-year-old resident manager of the Koa Lagoon Condominiums on South Kihei Road in his apartment at 9:27 a.m.
He was reported in critical condition at Maui Memorial Hospital with bleeding and swelling of the brain.
