‘Iolani wins D-II state football title
Austin Jim On passed for 239 yards and two touchdowns, leading the ‘Iolani Raiders to a 31-14 victory over the Lahainaluna Lunas in the Division II state football championship on Friday at Aloha Stadium.
It is ‘Iolani’s eighth D-II state title.
The Raiders jumped to a 24-6 halftime lead, with Jim On passing 10 yards to Keoni-Kordell Makekau for a first-period score, and 34 yards to Connor Ohira.
‘Iolani had 285 yards of total offense in the first half. Makekau’s 42-yard field goal as time expired in the second quarter sent the Raiders into the locker room with the 18-point edge.
