Bruno Mars brings da kine to SNL
Lots of buzz is swirling about Hawaii-born talent Bruno Mars’ return as a host on "Saturday Night Live." He’s already being compared to Justin Timberlake for ability to serve as both the host and musical guest.
Our favorite (though not for the fainthearted) is his appearance in the "Underground Festival," a regular bit that this time comprised a roundup of bad musical acts doing a political fest. Mars plays Troy Kamanawana, a pidgin-spouting character that offers (naturally) to gin up a fake Hawaiian birth certificate for anyone in need of an ID to vote. It got laughs from the audience, but not like he would have received from his hometown fans.
