A high-tech program for zombie killers, a bloodthirsty creature in a box and things that go bump in the closet all have starring roles in the entries selected as finalists for the inaugural Halloween Video Contest sponsored by the Star-Advertiser and Hawaii News Now.
Find the YouTube video links to the five finalists at HonoluluPulse.com and HawaiiNewsNow.com. The video with the most views by noon Tuesday will be the winner.
Results will be announced on the websites Tuesday afternoon. The People’s Choice winner will receive $100, an $80 gift certificate for Wahoo’s Fish Taco and bragging rights at the next zombie apocalypse.
The finalists are:
» "The Creature," by Noah Kiriu, 16, Moanalua High School.
» "The Closet," by Jespah Koja, daughter Aislin Koja, 11, and Grace Grange, 10.
» "Honeymoon," by Jeff and Claudia Wallace, Kahuku.
» "Mililani Massacre," by Mililani High School ninth-graders Jarod Miyake, Kekoa Hawelu, Chaz Horie, Ramsey Tacadena and Elijah Hatcher.
» "The Revelation Project," by Christian Gutierrez, 15, Punahou School.
A panel of judges will pick the winner of the $300 grand prize. Tune in to Hawaii News Now "Sunrise" starting Oct. 29 for a look at the finalists, with the winner announced Oct. 31.
