AECOM department manager William R. Wanner and Mayor Kirk Caldwell hop onto a temporary wastewater pipe in the Ala Wai Canal. Caldwell announced Friday that the pipe, installed after a force main line rupture in 2006, will be removed this summer. The project will affect paddling crews that practice in the canal, though city officials said they would try to minimize the disruptions.
