Social worker at OCCC collapses and dies
A social worker at the Oahu Community Correctional Center collapsed Friday at the facility and was later pronounced dead of a heart ailment, the state Department of Public Safety said.
The 45-year-old social worker, whose name was not released, collapsed at about 11:25 a.m., the department said in a news release.
Attempts to revive the social worker were made, and he was transported to Kuakini Medical Center, where preliminary reports indicated he suffered a "cardiac event."
"We are awaiting the medical examiner’s final report to determine official cause of death," the release said.
Suspect sought in Kona sexual assault
Hawaii island police are looking for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in Kona.
At about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said, the woman was walking on Loloku Street in the old industrial area of Kailua-Kona when a man grabbed her from behind. The suspect punched her and dragged her off the north shoulder of the road near a car dealership and sexually assaulted her, police said.
The suspect is described as a male in his 30s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He has medium-length wavy dark hair. Police said the man may be homeless.

Argument in Aiea ends with stabbing
Police arrested a 28-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed another man in Aiea.
At about 9:15 a.m. Thursday the suspect and the victim, 22, got into an argument, police said.
The suspect then took out a weapon and stabbed the victim.
The victim’s condition was not available.
Police arrested the 28-year-old man on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.
Man allegedly harasses arresting officer
Police arrested a 22-year-old man with no local address who allegedly physically harassed an officer and resisted arrest early Friday morning in Chinatown.
The incident happened at about 12:15 a.m. near Smith and Hotel streets while officers were trying to arrest him for another crime, police said.
The man was released on $2,000 bail on misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and harassment.
Woman critically injured crossing street
A pedestrian was critically injured Friday evening when she was struck by an SUV on Liliha Street.
The accident happened at about 8 p.m.
The victim, described as a woman in her 50s, was taken by Emergency Medical Services to a trauma center.
Police closed northbound lanes on Liliha Street near Ekekela Street pending an investigation. Traffic was being contra-flowed.
