ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. >> The world’s former No. 1-rated female boxer-turned-mix martial arts fighter is headed to the big screen.

Promoter Lenny Fresquez tells the Albuquerque Journal (http://goo.gl/wKtfVm) that Holly Holm is scheduled to appear with fellow Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter and Tacoma, Washington native Miesha Tate in an upcoming film called “Fight Valley.”

Fresquez, Holm’s longtime Albuquerque promoter, says filming will begin in August.

Lucas described “Fight Valley” as a female version of the 1999 Brad Pitt film “Fight Club.”

The UFC announced last month that undefeated Holm will face Farmersville, California teacher Marion Reneau on July 15 in San Diego.

Currently ranked tenth in the world in the bantamweight division, the New Mexico-born Holm is coming off her first UFC win over Raquel Pennington in February.
