Postal workers to hold food drive
It’s time again to pack up nonperishable foods for the mailbox, but not for sending them far and away.
Instead, postal workers will be picking up donations Saturday as part of the Stamp Out Hunger campaign.
Now in its 22nd year, the food drive aims to help people in need during the summer months when food pantries are typically less stocked.
All food collected will stay in Hawaii, and sponsor Campbell Soup Co. will donate 1 million pounds of food — more than 800,000 meals — to Feeding America.
