Ex-boyfriend of missing Carly Scott is charged with burglary
Steven Capobianco, the ex-boyfriend of missing Carly "Charli" Scott, was charged Monday with first-degree burglary.
Capobianco was arrested by Maui police at 11:26 a.m. Monday for first-degree burglary in a case unrelated to Scott’s disappearance. His bail was set at $10,000.
Police had identified Capobianco as a person of interest in Scott’s disappearance, which was classified as a homicide.
Police said during an unrelated Feb. 25 investigation, a Haiku woman told a detective that she suspected Capobianco of the September burglary in which she had two computers and jewelry stolen and her vehicle tires slashed.
Police said the burglary occurred between Sept. 18 and Sept. 19 on Eono Place in Haiku. A Dell laptop computer valued at $200 and a 20-inch iMac computer, valued at $1,400 were taken.
The woman told police the only other person who knew of the location of the computer was Capobianco.
