Olympian Tamari Miyashiro, a Kalani High graduate and All-American at Washington, is one of 14 players named to the top-ranked U.S. women’s national team roster that will play No. 4 China in two USA Volleyball Cup matches this week at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Miyashiro is one of two liberos selected for the matches Friday and Saturday, the other being Nebraska All-American Kayla Banwarth.
The series is a rematch of the 2014 FIVB World Championship in which Team USA defeated China 3-1 in the gold-medal match. The U.S. women’s title was their first triple crown event (Olympic Games, FIVB World Championship, FIVB World Cup) gold medal in program history.
The USA Volleyball Cup continues June 9 at UC Irvine and June 12 at Cal State San Bernardino.
Tickets are available at the Stan Sheriff Center box office or online at etickethawawaii.com. Both matches are at 7 p.m.
