Trade winds returning a day earlier than forecast
Cooling trade winds from the northeast are returning to the islands a day earlier than originally forecast.
The trade winds are strengthening today, bringing some windward and mauka showers rather than the interior and mountain showers created by daytime heating, forecasters said.
The trade winds will become breezy by the weekend with gusts of 15 to 25 mph late Saturday morning into the afternoon in Honolulu.
