The NCAA’s Committee on Infractions will hear case No. 00202 against the University of Hawaii men’s basketball team July 16-17 in Indianapolis, UH said Monday.

UH Manoa Chancellor Robert Bley-Vroman, athletic director David Matlin and the school’s attorneys are among those scheduled to attend the session at NCAA headquarters, a spokesman said.

Former coach Gib Arnold and his counsel are also scheduled to attend.

Other parties named in the allegations, including former assistant Brandyn Akana and ex-players Isaac Fotu and Davis Rozitis, may appear if they choose.

UH and Arnold last week replied to the NCAA’s January Notice of Allegations and the NCAA Enforcement Office may revise its allegations based upon the replies. It will also prepare a "statement of the case" summarizing the background of the case and areas of contention between the parties.

A Committee on Infractions panel of five to seven members taken from an overall COI membership pool of up to 24 will adjudicate the case.

The COI may accept UH’s self-imposed sanctions or add additional penalties of its own.

The parties may appeal to the Infractions Appeals Committee, which issues a final disposition.
