A man whose car was stolen early Friday morning in the Honolulu area used a tracking company to help police locate it, police said. 

The 43-year-old man called a tracking company around 2:30 a.m. when he noticed his car was stolen, according to police records. The tracking company contacted police with the location of the car, which police were able to locate and stop within 15 minutes.

Police at 2:45 a.m. arrested the driver, a 20-year-old Makiki man, on suspicion of unauthorized control of a motor vehicle, and his passenger, a 42-year-old homeless woman, on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a vehicle.

Also Friday, police said officers arrested 36-year-old homeless man Friday evening for allegedly stealing a car more than a week ago.

A 31-year-old man reported the car stolen around 4:50 p.m. April 3, according to police records. 

Officers located the alleged car thief in the Honolulu area Friday around 5:25 p.m. The man, who has no local address, was then arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a motor vehicle, according to police records.
