A 24-year-old man was in serious condition Saturday after falling about 40 feet while hiking near Makapuu, a Honolulu Emergency Services Department spokeswoman said.
The man fell 30 to 40 feet about 12:15 p.m. between Pele’s Chair and the Makapuu tide pools.
Lifeguards treated the man and firefighters picked him up by helicopter and brought him to Sandy Beach, where an Emergency Medical Services crew waited to take him to a hospital.
Man pulled from Wahiawa lake dies
An unidentified man died Friday after he was found unresponsive in Lake Wilson in Wahiawa.
Police said the man was found in the water about 9:25 a.m. Firefighters brought the man to shore, where he was pronounced dead.
Driver allegedly struck another vehicle
A 42-year-old woman was in custody Saturday for ramming a truck into a 42-year-old man’s vehicle in Kaneohe, police said.
The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. Saturday and placed the man at risk for serious injury, police said.
Police arrested the woman at her home on Lilipuna Place in Kaneohe at 2:40 a.m. She was booked for investigation of first-degree criminal property damage.
Woman held in assault of police officer
A 21-year-old Palolo woman was arrested Saturday morning after she allegedly assaulted a police officer in the Keeaumoku Street area.
Police said an officer was investigating a report of a disorderly woman when the suspect struck and injured the officer at about 2:24 a.m.
Police arrested the woman near Champions Sports Bar & Grill for investigation of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
