Hawaii golfers out at LPGA qualifying
Honolulu’s Xyra Suyetsugu missed advancing to the final stage of LPGA Qualifying by one shot Friday. The Roosevelt and University of Hawaii graduate fired a final-round 75 to finish tied for 77th at 8-over 296. The top 70 and ties — 76 in all — advanced at 295.
Stage II of LPGA Qualifying was played at Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice, Fla.
Former Hawaii State Open champ Katie Kempter (79—301), Baldwin High graduate Shayna Miyajima (78—307) and Leilehua graduate Britney Choy (78—311) also failed to advance.
Hawaii’s Stephanie Kono and Ayaka Kaneko, who played on the LPGA Tour this year, will try to keep their cards at the final Q-school, Nov. 28-Dec. 2 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. Top finishers in the final stage earn 2013 LPGA membership (total number of cards TBD) and all others who make the cut get Symetra Tour status.
Tokioka finishes 8th in World Deaf Golf

Tokioka, who fired a 74 Thursday, had a four-day total of 323. The winner was Jack McLeod of Australia, at 290.
Tokioka, the youngest player in the history of the U.S. team, had the best finish of any American and helped his squad to a fifth-place finish out of nine teams, at 1,350. Australia won with a team total of 1,249.
The U.S. men’s senior team, with former Punahou coach Gerald Isobe, took third among five teams. Isobe was 12th individually at 95—360.
