Rhode Island company completes its purchase of KHON-TV
Providence, R.I.-based LIN TV Corp. said today it has completed its acquisition of KHON-TV and stations in seven other cities from New Vision Television.
LIN TV said the acquisitions bring its stable of TV stations to 43. Seller New Vision Television recently emerged from bankruptcy.
In addition to Honolulu’s KHON, the stations acquired by LIN TV are in Portland, Ore., Birmingham, Ala., Wichita and Topeka, Ks., Savannah, Ga., Youngstown, Ohio, and Mason City, Iowa.
In May, LIN announced it was buying 13 stations for $330.4 million and assumption of about $12 million in debt.
