Rainbows hold off Pacific on the road
Marc Flores and Pi’ikea Kitamura hit solo home runs and Kalei Hanawahine went 3-for-4 with an RBI double to lead Hawaii to a 4-3 victory over Pacific on Saturday at Klein Family Field in Stockton, Calif.
Corey MacDonald (5-5) allowed three runs on seven hits in seven innings and Lawrence Chew earned his first save for the Rainbows (11-29, 6-11 Big West).
Jake Jenkins (0-7) allowed six hits and three runs in 3 2/3 innings to take the loss for Pacific (10-31, 3-14).
Hawaii clinched its second series win in the Big West and third overall this year.
The series concludes Sunday at 10 a.m.
