HPU remains unbeaten in PacWest soccer
Alejandro Porras and Kanoa Nartatez scored as the Hawaii Pacific men’s soccer team moved to 5-0 in the Pacific West Conference with a 2-0 victory Saturday over Point Loma in San Diego.
HPU is now 5-3 for the season. Point Loma is 2-7 and 1-6.
» Ryan Benevente scored twice including the tiebreaker in the 65th minute to lead Dixie State to a 2-1 victory over Chaminade in a PacWest match Saturday in St. George, Utah.
Sophomore midfielder Dayton Sato scored for the Silverswords (1-6-1, 1-4-1). Dixie State is 4-6-1 and 3-3-1.
» Wil Barber and Brent Jenson scored goals, but the Brigham Young-Hawaii men’s soccer team fell to No. 17 Grand Canyon 3-2 in overtime on Saturday. The Seasiders fell to 2-3-1, 1-3-1 in the PacWest. Saeed Robinson scored the winning goal for Grand Canyon (9-2-0, 6-1-0).
HPU, Point Loma women play to 0-0 draw
Goalie Kiana Kaiwi posted 12 saves as Hawaii Pacific (3-4-1) played Point Loma (7-2-1, 5-1-1) to a scoreless tie in a Pacific West Conference women’s soccer match Saturday in San Diego.
» Jen Mason scored three goals as Dixie State (6-3-2, 6-1) overwhelmed winless Chaminade (0-8, 0-6) 5-0 in a PacWest match Saturday in St. George, Utah.
