Attendance at this year’s First Hawaiian International Auto Show, held last weekend, was up 3.8 percent from a year ago, according ot Motor Trend Auto Shows Inc.

The company produces the auto show each year for the Hawaii Automobile Dealers Association and does not release total attendance numbers but rather describes an increase or decrease as a percentage over the previous year. The three-day auto show was held at the Hawai‘i Convention Center.

About 19.93 percent of attendees who participated in a post-show survey indicated they are in the market to buy a vehicle and were at the show to conduct research, a 4.87 percent jump over last year.

Almost half — 45.95 percent — of the auto show visitors said they were considering buying a vehicle within the next year, up from 41 percent in 2013.
