Tickets are on sale for the fifth annual EuroCinema Hawaii Film Festival and the event’s black-tie awards gala.
The festival will screen 11 films from Oct. 30 to Nov. 9 at Honolulu’s Dole Cannery Stadium 18.
The awards party, which will feature a red-carpet arrival of visiting actors and local celebrities, will be held Nov. 8 at the Moana Surfrider. Arrivals will start at 6 p.m., followed by the gala at 7 p.m. and the awards presentation at 8 p.m.
Film and ticket information is available at program.hiff.org/films/section/eurocinema_hawaii.
Tickets for the awards gala are $175 and can be purchased online at www.eurocinemahawaii.org.
Producer Chris Lee, a founding board member of the festival, called this year’s selection the best that EuroCinema has offered. Two of the films —"Two Days, One Night" from Belgium, and "Beloved Sisters" from German — are official submissions to the Academy Awards to be considered for the best foreign language film category.
CORRECTION: The festival will screen 11 films. An earlier version of this story and a story in the print edition said there will be 10 films.
