Reno police say man with road rage run over by own vehicle
RENO, Nev. » Reno police say a man who allegedly pointed a handgun at people in a fit of road rage ended up running over himself.
Authorities say 69-year-old Randolph Rothman was following a vehicle this morning and pointed a gun at two people inside it before ramming the car.
But police say that when Rothman left his vehicle and went to confront the two victims, he left his car in reverse and it started rolling backwards.
Authorities say the vehicle ran over his leg when he tried to stop it.
Police say they found a 0.38-caliber handgun in Rothman’s pocket. He was taken to a hospital and will be arrested on suspicion of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit once he’s released.
