Hawaii again unranked in volleyball poll
The Hawaii volleyball team remained unranked for a second consecutive week in the national coaches poll as well as slipped four spots in the RPI released Monday.
The Rainbow Wahine (12-5, 4-2 Big West) received 16 points in the AVCA Top 25 poll, one less than last week, and tying them with Central Florida in 30th place. The top eight teams remained the same, led by Stanford (18-0), while Long Beach State (16-4, 6-0), which defeated UH in five sets on Oct. 11, made its poll debut at No. 23.
In the Rating Percentage Index, Hawaii went from 25 to 29. The RPI is which is part of the formula used by the NCAA selection to seed the postseson tournament.
Coming off a bye week, the Rainbow Wahine return to the Stan Sheriff Center for Big West matches against Cal Poly (7-10, 2-5) Friday at 7 p.m. and UC Santa Barbara (9-9, 4-3) Sunday at 5 p.m.
