A 52-year-old woman was critically injured Tuesday afternoon after she was struck by an SUV driven by her mother at 424 Sumner Street in Iwilei.

An 86-year-old woman backing up a sport utility vehicle at an Iwilei parking lot Tuesday ran over her 52-year-old daughter who later died.
Police said the accident occurred 4:23 p.m. while the daughter was helping to guide her mother in backing up a 2003 Toyota Highlander.
The daughter was rushed in critical condition to the Queen’s Medical Center, where she later died, police Lt. Robert Towne said.
Police said the vehicle was in the loading zone at Discount Furniture Warehouse at 424 Sumner St.
The motor vehicle accident is the third nontraffic vehicle fatality on Oahu.
