Man, 19, charged with rape after arrest at UH dorm
Authorities have charged a 19-year-old Oregon man with multiple counts of sexual assault following his arrest at an University of Hawaii dormitory Sunday morning.
Tyler Strong was charged Monday two counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree of sexual assault. He posted bail of $60,000 and his initial District Court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.
Police said the victim is an 18-year-old woman.
The incident was reported to police at 5 a.m. Sunday. The suspect was arrested at 6 a.m. at Johnson Hall on Dole Street.
University officials would not say if Strong or the alleged victim are students at UH-Manoa because the case is under investigation.
