A pair of violinists with Roosevelt High School’s symphony orchestra will represent Hawaii at Carnegie Hall’s prestigious 2014 Honors Performance Series in New York.
Seniors Jamie Labrador and Sarah Wilson will join more than 500 high school students from across the country for the program, which offers elite musicians an opportunity to rehearse under master conductors and perform before an invited audience of representatives from collegiate and professional music programs. The five-day program is slated to get underway Feb. 5.
Labrador serves as concertmaster in the Roosevelt High Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Gregg Abe. Wilson has been a member of the Hawaii Youth Symphony Orchestra since the sixth grade.
