>> Notre Dame senior Manti Te’o (Punahou ’09) was named the Chuck Bednarik player of the week by the Maxwell Football Club on Tuesday. Te’o had eight tackles and two interceptions in a 13-6 win over Michigan on Saturday to help the Irish move to 4-0 for the first time in a decade. Te’o leads the team with 38 tackles, three picks and two fumble recoveries.
>> UCLA defensive tackle Seali‘i Epenesa (‘Iolani ’10) totaled four tackles and forced a fumble and
5-foot-11 safety Dalton Hilliard (Punahou ’09) had three tackles, including two for loss and one sack, in a 27-20 loss to Oregon State on Saturday. Bruins kicker Kaimi Fairbairn (Punahou ’12) converted both extra-point attempts and was 2-for-3 on field goals, hitting from 22 and 35 yards and missing from 42.
>> Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota (Saint Louis ’11) finished 20-for-35 for 260 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in a 49-0 win over Arizona on Saturday. Defensive tackle Wade Keliikipi (Waianae ’09) made three tackles, with one for a loss, and freshmen DeForest Buckner (Punahou ‘12) and Bronson Yim (Saint Louis ’11) assisted on two tackles for the Ducks.
>> Washington State linebacker Cyrus Coen (Pearl City ’11) made seven solo tackles and Chester Sua (Kaimuki ’11) added two solo stops in a 35-34 loss to Colorado on Saturday.
>> Wyoming freshman linebacker Siaosi Hala‘api‘api (Kaimuki ’12) made eight tackles, forced a fumble and broke up a pass in a 40-37 win over Idaho on Saturday. Vandals senior Robert Siavii (Leilehua ’08) made six tackles, and freshman defensive back Solomon Dixon (McKinley ’11) blocked a kick.
>> Boise State safety Jeremy Ioane (Punahou ’10) finished with four tackles and an interception in a 7-6 win over Brigham Young on Friday.
>> New Mexico State quarterback Andrew Manley (Leilehua ’10) went 22-for-34 for 256 yards and a touchdown in a 27-14 loss to New Mexico on Saturday.
>> Utah State sophomore safety Brian Suite (Punahou ‘10) made six tackles and broke up a pass in a 31-19 win over Colorado State on Saturday.
>> Southern California senior Abe Markowitz (Punahou ’08) started the first game of his career at left guard on Saturday in a 27-9 win over California. Bears defensive tackle Aaron Tipoti (Word of Life ’08) finished with three tackles.
>> Weber State quarterback Michael Hoke (Kamehameha ’08) was 17-for-34 for 249 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another 50 yards in a 32-26 loss to Eastern Washington on Saturday. Tight end Chase Nakamura (Baldwin ’09) added two catches for 30 yards, defensive back Kela Marciel (‘Iolani ’09) had six tackles and defensive tackle Adam Sagapolutele-White (Saint Louis ’09) made two of his three tackles for losses for the Wildcats.
>> Montana quarterback Trent McKinney (Mililani ’11) finished 20-for-34 for 199 yards and ran for 49 yards and a touchdown in a 41-31 loss to Northern Arizona on Saturday. Grizzlies defensive tackle Tonga Takai (Damien ’10) assisted on five tackles.
>> Washington (Mo.) junior Andrew Skalman (‘Iolani ’10) had two solo tackles and an interception, and freshman Quincy Marting (Punahou ’12) finished with three solo stops in a 28-23 win over Kenyon College on Saturday.
>> Pacific (Ore.) quarterback P.J. Minaya (Hanalani ’10) finished 22-for-36 for 260 yards and a touchdown in a 51-17 loss to Willamette (Ore.) on Saturday. Sophomore Darin Kamealoha (Hanalani ’10) had six catches for 112 yards and Kelson Kawai (Kohala ’10) had 177 all-purpose yards for the Boxers, who also got five tackles and a pass breakup from defensive back Kasey Dukes (Leilehua ’10).
>> Whitworth (Wash.) defensive back Kainoa Raguindin (Aiea ’11) had five tackles and broke up four passes in a 17-14 win over Chapman (Calif.) on Saturday. Panthers receiver Kali‘i Kunitomo (Konawaena ’09) had five catches for 36 yards.
>> Southern Oregon receiver Justin Otaguro (Roosevelt ’08) finished with three catches for 40 yards in a 45-7 win over Dickinson State on Saturday.
>> Menlo (Calif.) defensive back Joe Correia (Saint Louis ’09) made three tackles, and linebacker Mitchell Lum (Castle ’09) and senior Halen Tanimoto (Kamehameha-Hawaii ’07) each assisted on a tackle in a 59-13 win over La Verne on Saturday. Defensive lineman Kaiea Medeiros (Kamehameha-Maui ’08) finished with a solo tackle for the Leopards.
>> Cornell (Iowa) College linebacker Geoffrey Miller (Punahou ’10) had nine tackles, two quarterback hurries and a pass breakup in a
31-28 loss to Monmouth (Ill.) on Saturday.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
>> UTEP junior Malia Patterson (Punahou ’10) was named the Conference USA co-setter of the week on Monday. Patterson led the league, averaging 13.71 assists per set last week, including 54 in a four-set match, which is the most in a match of that length this year.
>> Texas junior Sarah Palmer (Hawaii Baptist ’10) finished with 12 digs and an ace and freshman Kat Brooks (Punahou ’12) added four digs in a three-set sweep of Oklahoma on Saturday.
>> Pacific (Calif.) senior libber Ko‘ala Matsuoka (Kamehameha ’09) had a team-high 13 digs and two assists in a four-set loss to UC Davis on Saturday.
>> Towson (Md.) senior I‘ishah Keliikoa (‘Iolani ’09) was named the Colonial Athletic Association defensive player of the week on Monday. Keliikoa had 38 kills and 13 blocks in three matches last week while hitting .632. Her .424 hitting percentage for the season is tops in the CAA.
>> Texas Pan-American junior Nycole Masaki (Kailua ’10) was named to the Spartan Invitational all-tournament team on Saturday. Masaki finished with 118 assists and 20 kills in three matches and recorded 10 digs in two of three games.
>> Albany (N.Y.) senior Gabby Whitworth (Kalaheo ’09) recorded a double-double with 41 assists and 15 digs in her first match at setter in a four-set win over Hartford on Sunday.
>> Portland State junior Kaeli Patton (Radford ’10) had four digs and three aces in a four-set win over Montana State on Saturday.
>> New Haven (Conn.) setter Kaulana Ane (Kamehameha-Maui ’11) had a match-high 34 assists, five digs and three kills, and freshman Kea-Marie Olaso (Le Jardin ’12) chipped in with seven digs and an ace in a three-set sweep of Le Moyne on Saturday to open Northeast-10 Conference play.

>> Oregon State junior David Fink (‘Iolani ’10) finished in a tie for 10th place at 4-under 212 at the Mark Simpson Invitational that ended on Tuesday. Fink helped the Beavers win the tournament at 21 under, which is the fifth-best three-round team score in school history.
>> San Francisco junior Alika Bell (Kamehameha ’10) finished in a tie for 32nd place at 8-over 224 in the Saint Mary’s Invitational that ended on Tuesday. Santa Clara sophomore Brett Komoto (Punahou ’11) finished in a tie for 76th place at 22 over.
>> Pacific (Ore.) junior Josh Mau (Maryknoll ’10) finished in a team-best 14th place after totaling an 11-over 155 at the season-opening Boxer Classic on Sunday.

>> Pepperdine sophomore Alina Ching (Punahou ’11) is tied for fourth place at 1 under heading into today’s final round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge. Teammate Marissa Chow (‘Iolani ’12) is tied for 30th at 6 over after shooting an even-par 72 on Tuesday. Tulsa senior Kristina Merkle (Moanalua ’09) is in a tie for 52nd place at 12 over.
>> Portland State senior Britney Yada (Waiakea ’09) finished at 8-over 224 to finish in a tie for 16th place at the WSU Cougar Cup that ended on Tuesday. Gonzaga sophomore Alice Kim (University ’11) finished in a tie for 49th place at 19 over, and Washington State freshman Nani Yanagi (Waiakea ’12) finished in a tie for 77th place at 32 over.
>> Oregon sophomore Cassy Isagawa (Baldwin ’11) shot a final-round 80 to finish at 14 over and in a tie for 34th place at the Mason Rudolph Championship on Sunday.

>> George Fox (Ore.) junior Shaina Inn (Hawaii Baptist ’10) reached the semifinals of the main draw at the USTA/ITA Small College Northwest Regional Women’s Tennis Championships on Sunday. Inn won three matches before losing 8-1 in the semis.
