Seasiders move up in AVCA D-II poll

The Brigham Young-Hawaii women’s volleyball team jumped two spots in the AVCA Coaches Division II Top 25 released Monday.

The Seasiders moved up from No. 14 to No. 12.

Joining BYUH in the poll from the PacWest is Grand Canyon at No. 13.

Weekly honor roll

>> Shih Ting Chen, BYUH: The sophomore hitter/middle led the Seasiders to a 3-0 sweep of Dixie State, their lone match of the week. She had 18.5 points with 17 kills, an ace and a block assist.

>> Lauren Hagemeyer, BYUH: The senior hitter had 14 kills with two block assists in the Seasiders’ sweep of the Red Storm.

>> Bria Morgan, UHH: The freshman hitter had 43 kills, an ace and six block assists for conference-best averages (for the week) in points (6.71) and kills (6.14) per set as the Vulcans went 1-1.

>> Brenda Walker, Chaminade: The freshman hitter/libero out of McKinley led the conference in digs per set (7.0) with 56 digs as the Silverswords went 1-1 last week.
