Big winners took many forms at the 2013 Pele Awards staged by the American Advertising Federation, Hawaii Chapter.

Wall-to-Wall Studios won 17 awards including seven Pele Awards, or "gold" level awards, as well as five silver and five bronze awards Saturday at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

Anthology Marketing Group won 15 awards, including one Pele, five silver and nine bronze, at the annual advertising industry gala.

The next big winner, MVNP, formerly known as Milici Valenti Ng Pack, won 14 awards including Best-of-Show — Advertising, a special Judge’s Award, seven Pele Awards, four silver and one bronze.

The pugilism theme for the event, which played out for weeks on the AAF-Hawaii Facebook page, set the stage for the close competition.

Nella Media Group won seven awards: Best-of-Show — Design, a special Judge’s Award, three Pele Awards, a silver and a bronze. VOICE also won seven: three Peles and four silver awards.

In all 35 Peles, 41 silver and 36 bronze awards were presented in the annual advertising and marketing competition. The Peles automatically will be entered in the national American Advertising Federation ADDY Award competition this summer, at no charge to the winners. Winners of silver awards can have their awards entered in the national competition, for a fee.
