UH baseball: Rainbows lose opener at UC Irvine
Andrew Thurman allowed three hits over 8 2/3 innings to lead UC Irvine to a 4-1 victory over Hawaii on Friday night at Anteater Ballpark in Irvine, Calif.
Thurman (3-3) struck out eight and Race Parmenter earned his fifth save for the Anteaters (18-8, 1-3 Big West).
Connor Little pitched a complete game in the loss for Hawaii (7-19, 2-2).
Little (1-4) allowed four runs on eight hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
Taylor Sparks hit a solo home run and Connor Spencer went 2-for-3 with an RBI for UC Irvine.
Conner George went 0-for-3 to end a nine-game hitting streak in a game that only took 1 hour, 50 minutes.
