AMERICAN FORK, Utah » A 5-month-old American Fork boy is dead after taking a gunshot to the head.
KSL reports that the shooting was the result of an attempt at murder-suicide.
A family friend tells KSL that the father shot the baby and was about to kill himself when somebody at the house tackled him.
American Fork Police Sgt. Gregg Ludlow says only that the shooting was a homicide.
The infant was flown by medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
