Diamond Head Classic tickets on sale
Tickets for the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic men’s basketball tournament will go on sale Monday.
The eight-team tournament at the Stan Sheriff Center will be played Dec. 22, 23 and 25.
The teams are Hawaii, Arizona, East Tennessee State, Indiana State, Miami, Ole Miss, San Diego State and San Francisco.
Fans can purchase individual game tickets or all-session packages online at www.eTicketHawaii.com and print them on their computers. They can also purchase tickets at the Stan Sheriff Center and Aloha Stadium box offices from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or call 956-2697. Other outlets are UH Manoa Campus Center and UH Rainbowtique at Ward Centre.
All-session passes range from $60 to $90. Individual prices are $10 to $26.
All 12 tournament games will be televised across ESPN networks.
UH, UHH to get scholarship funds
The University of Hawaii and UH-Hilo will divide $920,727 in donations from the Hawaii Food Industry Association for athletic scholarships this year, the UH Foundation announced.
UH-Manoa receives $828,654 for its Rainbow Fever Athletic Scholarship Endowment fund, while UH-Hilo gets $92,073 for its Vulcan Fever fund.
At Manoa, the endowment will support fifth-year athletic scholarships and summer school scholarships. Recipients must be full-time undergraduates who have completed their eligibility and are finishing their studies as fifth-year students, UH said.
HPU, BYU-Hawaii split in soccer
Alejandro Porras, Heimana Chene and Daniel Haehre scored as visiting Hawaii Pacific beat Brigham Young-Hawaii 3-1 in a Pacific West Conference men’s soccer match Thursday.
The Seasiders scored on an own goal.
HPU improved to 2-3 and 2-0; BYUH dropped to 1-1-1 and 0-1-1.

Chaminade volleyball wins in 5 sets
Kim Spring had 16 kills and Brenda Walker had 38 digs as Chaminade rallied for a 20-25, 17-25, 25-17, 25-18, 15-10 victory over Dixie State in a Pacific West Conference women’s volleyball match Wednesday at McCabe gym.
Chaminade improved to 4-6 and 1-1; Dixie State dropped to 2-5, 0-2.
