Hawaii island firefighters battle Pahoa house fire
No one was injured in a fire that burned a house in Pahoa on Hawaii island Friday.
The fire at Lalakea Street in Hawaiian Beaches took about two hours to extinguish, after the initial alarm at 2:50 p.m., authorities said.
Firefighters found the single-story, 3-bedroom home and a vehicle fully involved when they arrived at about 3 p.m.
The fire was under control 4 p.m. and extinguished by 7:45 p.m.
Damage is estimated at $187,000. The cause is under investigation.
There were no major injuries reported.
