Check forger gets 20 years, must pay for implants
A career criminal with a string of convictions for passing forged checks was sentenced in state court this morning to 20 years in prison for issuing thousands of dollars worth of fake checks drawn on the Oahu Community Correctional Center’s inmate trust account.
The 20 years is the sentence to which Denise K. Foster, formerly known as Godwyn Foster, agreed to when she pleaded guilty in June to three counts of theft and 25 counts of forgery.
In addition, Foster, 41, must repay Honolulu plastic surgeon Benjamin Chu $5,000 for the breast implants she paid for with a fake cashier’s check.
