Another spring, another LOI day
Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance and the Elks Lodge in Waikiki will host a National Letter of Intent signing ceremony on Wednesday morning.
The signing will begin at 7 a.m.
PIAA, a non-profit organization, has also announced its 12th annual football combine site. The event will be held at Castle High School on May 25.
A soccer combine will return for its second year on June 1 at Kapolei High School.

Damien’s Fant headed to CIU
Damien senior Alex Fant has accepted a four-year scholarship to play basketball at Columbia International University (S.C.).
The basketball program at CIU is brand new. Fant, a guard-forward, was a perimeter threat for the Monarchs and averaged 10.4 points per game.
Hall of Honor applications sought
The Hawaii High School Athletic Association is accepting applications for its 2013 class of inductees for the Hawaii High School Hall of Honor.
Twelve senior student-athletes will be inducted after a selection process May 18-19 by a 15-person committee of athletic directors, administrators, coaches and members of the media.
The formal induction will take place at a June 9 Hall of Honor awards banquet at the Sheraton Waikiki.
Selection criteria is based primarily on athletic achievement, with character, academic record and community service also taken into consideration.
All applications and supporting material must be sent to the HHSAA office at P.O. Box 62029, Honolulu, HI 96839, and postmarked by April 30.
