Vulcans baseball takes 2 from Knights
The UH-Hilo baseball team swept a Pacific West Conference doubleheader from Academy of Art on Saturday, beating the Knights 7-2 and 8-5 at Wong Stadium.
Austin Cusack and Steffen Miner each had two RBIs in the opener, and Greg Cleary homered in the nightcap for UHH (12-32, 11-29) against the Knights (4-31, 3-23).
Goldstein to speak at Quarterback Club
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Sjarif Goldstein will be the guest speaker at Monday’s Honolulu Quarterback Club luncheon. Goldstein, the assistant sports editor, has been with the newspaper for 17 years, 13 of those in the sports department.
A graduate of Pearl City High School, Goldstein went on to the University of Hawaii, where he was the editor-in-chief for the school’s newspaper. He will talk about the sports section and how the department puts together both the daily and weekend editions.
The Honolulu Quarterback Club meets at the Maple Garden Restaurant. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m., with the program slated for a noon start. The luncheon costs $15 per person.
