Coaches clinic site changed to Maui High
Thursday’s Adidas Hoops Coaches Clinic, hosted by Chaminade, will be held at Maui High and not War Memorial Gym, as originally announced.
Two-time Olympian and Naismith Hall of Fame inductee Nancy Lieberman and Maui Invitational tournament chair Dave Odom, who won three NIT championships, will be at the clinic that runs from 5 to 9 p.m.
Sunday’s clinic is from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at McCabe Gym. The free clinics are open to high school, middle school and community basketball coaches ages 18 and older. Online registration is available at goswords.com. For more information, call 735-4790.
Golf
Rose Invitational tournament coming up
Hawaii Hilo hosts its annual Dennis Rose Invitational, a 54-hole golf tournament with both men’s and women’s competition, on Monday and Tuesday at Waikoloa.
Monday’s play is two rounds and Tuesday’s is a single round. Both days begin at 7 a.m.

Seasiders remain No. 5 in Division IIpoll
Brigham Young-Hawaii stayed at No. 5 in Monday’s AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25.
The Seasiders have won their past eight to improve to 15-1 overall, 10-1 in PacWest play. BYUH is at home for its next five matches, beginning with Wednesday’s 7:30 p.m. contest with Fresno Pacific that will be broadcast live on BYU TV. Concordia-St. Paul (19-1) remained No. 1, receiving 46 first-place votes. Tampa (17-1) moved up a spot to No. 2, Central Missouri (22-0, 2 votes) rose a spot to No. 3, and previous No. 2 Minnesota-Duluth (19-2) dropped to No. 4.
Chen named player of the week
Brigham Young-Hawaii junior Shih Ting Chen repeated as conference player of the week after leading the Seasiders to two huge wins over Point Loma Nazarene and Cal Baptist last week.
Chen led the conference in kills (5.57 kps) and points (5.64) with 39 kills and one block assist in the 3-1 win over the Sea Lions and the sweep of the Lancers. She also added 27 total digs and hit .300 as BYUH snapped conference winning streaks for both Point Loma (12 straight) and Cal Baptist (five straight).

>>Ying Chun Chen, BYUH: The junior setter had 79 assists in the victories over Point Loma and Cal Baptist.
Men’s soccer
Hawaii Pacific’s Kemsies honored
Hawaii Pacific freshman midfielder Erik Kemsies was named the conference player of the week after helping the Sea Warriors to victories over Fresno Pacific and Dominican.
Kemsies figured in five of HPU’s seven goals last week.
BYUH’s Larsen named freshman of week
Brigham Young-Hawaii midfielder Jonathan Larsen earned the freshman of the week honor, scoring both goals in the Seasiders’ 2-1 overtime win over Notre Dame de Namur.
Pineda chosen as defender of the week
Chris Pineda, the junior goalie for Brigham Young-Hawaii, was named the defender of the week after helping the Seasiders go 2-0 last week. Playing all 181 minutes and 40 seconds of both matches, he had six saves while giving up one goal in the 2-1 overtime win against Notre Dame de Namur and a 3-0 shutout of Fresno Pacific.

>> Felipe Silva, HPU: The senior forward scored three goals in the Sea Warriors’ two victories — two against Fresno Pacific in a 5-1 win, and one against Dominican in the 2-1 double-overtime win.

Vulcans’ Pasek earns weekly honor
Hawaii Hilo junior forward Kristine Pasek was named player of the week after helping the Vulcans go 2-0.
Pasek scored the lone goal in the 1-0 win over Notre Dame de Namur and scored UHH’s first goal in a 2-1 overtime win against Dominican.

>> Logan Chan, Azusa Pacific: The junior defender out of Sacred Hearts helped the Cougars to their sixth shutout of the season, a 1-0 win over Dixie State. APU continues to lead the conference at 6-0-1.
>> Megan McCain, BYUH: The senior goalie made five stops in the shutout wins over Notre Dame de Namur (2-0) and Fresno Pacific (1-0).
>> Rosie Nakata, Cal Baptist: The senior goalie out of Mililani stopped six shots on goal in the 3-0 win at Point Loma.

McKenna wins another weekly honor
Hawaii Pacific junior Fiona McKenna was named the conference’s runner of the week for the third time in four weeks.
The Irish national won Saturday’s BYU-Hawaii Invitational, finishing the 5-kilometer course in Laie in 19 minutes, 15 seconds.
Women’s honor roll
>> Kami Dixon, BYUH: The freshman finished fourth overall and first among the Seasiders in 19:55, helping BYUH to second place at its own invitational.
>> Marissa Kunsch, HPU: The sophomore was third overall at the BYUH Invitational, finishing in 19:50.
>> Nohemi Martinez, HPU: The junior finished in 19:43 to place second overall at the BYUH Invitational.
Men’s honor roll
>> Kevin Miller, BYUH: The junior led the Seasiders to second place in their invitational Saturday, finishing the 8K race second overall in 26 minutes, 5 seconds.
>> Leandro Santillan, HPU: The junior won Saturday’s BYUH Invitational in 26:03, helping the Sea Warriors to the team title.
