Smithsonian ranks Lihue 18th best small town
LIHUE » The town of Lihue on the island of Kauai has made the list of Smithsonian’s "20 Best Small Towns to Visit" for 2013.
The Garden Island reports that in the April edition of the magazine Lihue is rated 18th. Sue Kanoho, executive director of the Kauai Visitors Bureau, says it’s nice to see the Smithsonian recognize the town in its monthly publication with a circulation of 2.1 million.
Kanoho says the island has several special attractions within close proximity, including the Kauai Museum, Grove Farm Homestead Museum, Kilohana and the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center.
