Motorcyclists, pedestrian suffer serious injuries in separate accidents

Three people went to the hospital in serious condition after separate traffic accidents Wednesday evening.

Paramedics took a 21-year-old man to the hospital after his moped was hit by a truck on near 1305 Middle Street in Kalihi at 5:42 p.m., the city’s Emergency Medical Services Division reported.

Paramedics said the man was not wearing a helmet.

Another accident at 5:52 p.m. sent a 32-year-old motorcyclist to the hospital after a car turned in front of his motorcycle on Makakilo Drive near Makamai Loop, paramedics said. The man was wearing a helmet.

In Liliha, a 24-year-old woman was hit by a car near the intersection of North Judd and Liliha streets, paramedics reported. She was walking across the street in a crosswalk at about 6 p.m. Wednesday.
