Rosemary Ayson Ungos and Herald Vega Fernandez were married Aug. 16 at Our Lady of Sorrows church. The Rev. Richard McNally officiated. A reception followed at the Hale Koa Hotel.
The bride is the daughter of Primo and Jovita Ungos of Wahiawa. She received a degree in sociology from the University of Hawaii and works as a service supervisor at Responsive Caregivers of Hawaii.
The groom is the son of Her­mi­ni­ano and Lydia Fernandez of San Diego. He graduated from San Diego State University and San Diego City College with degrees in health science and nursing.
The couple lives in Mili­lani.

Sadie Shizuno Yamada and Walter Masa­yuki Yamada of Aiea celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a party Sept. 1 at Natsu­noya Tea House.
The Yamadas have four children, Dennis Y., Terry T. and Christy M. Yamada, and Barbara M. Gass; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
They were married Aug. 29, 1943, in Hono­lulu.
