Car fire prompts lane closings on H-1
Police closed two lanes on the H-1 freeway westbound near the Kaamilo Street overpass Sunday morning because of a car fire, police said.
Police closed the lanes around 11 a.m. and reopened them less than an hour later.
Capt. James Todd said crews responded to the fire and put it out with little difficulty.
Todd said the fire appeared to have started in the car’s engine.

Sailor won’t be prosecuted in gun threat
Prosecutors have declined to bring legal proceedings against a 22-year-old Pearl Harbor sailor who allegedly threatened two of his wife’s friends with a shotgun in his Salt Lake home, police said.
The man carrying a shotgun entered the house just before noon Thursday and threatened the two women, ages 33 and 28, who were visiting with their two children. The women fled with their children.
The man’s wife was upstairs during the incident, police said.
The couple emerged from the house, and police arrested the man at 12:51 p.m. on suspicion of four counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Prosecutors declined to charge the man on Friday.
Dave Koga, spokesman for the city Prosecutor’s Office, had no comment Sunday.
