Women’s basketball
>> Iwalani Rodrigues, Kalani ’08: The Utah senior guard had a team-high 12 points, five rebounds and three assists in her final collegiate game as the Utes lost to Drexel 46-43 in the championship game of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament on Saturday. Rodrigues hit her second 3-pointer of the game to give the Utes a one-point lead with three minutes remaining before Drexel scored the final four points to pull out the win.
Men’s golf
>> T.K. Kim, St. Anthony ’09: The Boise State senior closed with a season-best 3-under 69 to finish in a tie for 10th place at the weather-shortened Cowboy Classic on Tuesday in Scottsdale, Ariz. Kim finished 3 over for the tournament to earn his second top-10 finish of the season and sixth in his career. Kim has placed in the top 25 of all nine tournaments he’s played in this season.
>> David Fink, ‘Iolani ’09: The Oregon State junior shot an even-par 71 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 18th place at even-par 213 at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.
Women’s golf
>> Hayley Young, Mid-Pacific ’09: The Boise State senior tied a career best for the second straight day, firing a 1-under 71 on Tuesday to take a six-shot lead into today’s final round of the Cowgirl Classic in Chandler, Ariz. Young, who is 2 under for the tournament, has shot two of the five under-par rounds in the entire tournament.
>> Britney Yada, Waiakea ’09: The Portland State senior shot a 71 and is in sole possession of second place at 4 over heading into today’s final round of the Cowgirl Classic.
>> Kristina Merkle, Moanalua ’09: The Tulsa senior carded a final-round 2-under 70 on Sunday to finish in 16th place at 5 over in the Rebel Intercollegiate in Oxford, Miss.
>> Monica Keo, Punahou ’11: The Seattle University sophomore followed Monday’s round of 12-over 84 with an 83 to sit in a tie for 72nd place at 23 over at the Cowgirl Classic.
>> Kelli Oride, Kauai ’11: The Notre Dame sophomore closed with her best round of the tournament, shooting a 7-over 79 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 46th place at 27 over at the SMU Dallas Athletic Club Invitational in Dallas.
>> Anna Jang, Punahou ’09: The Princeton senior shot a final-round 5-over 77 to finish in a tie for 42nd place at 24 over at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Classic that ended Sunday.
>> Marissa Suehiro, Punahou ’11: The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps sophomore shot consecutive rounds of 88 to finish in sole possession of seventh place at 32 over at the SCIAC #2 Golf Tournament on Monday in Lompoc, Calif.
Women’s gymnastics
>> Kahoku Palafox, Maryknoll ’08: The Arizona State graduate student finished 26th with a 9.7 on bars and came in 29th with a 9.725 on the beam in the NCAA Corvallis Regional on Saturday. The Sun Devils finished third in the region with only the top two advancing to the NCAA championships.
Men’s track and field
>> Jonathan Padron, Damien ’10: The Occidental (Calif.) junior and NCAA Division III Indoor All-American won the 100-meter dash in 10.64 seconds and ran the anchor leg of the Tigers’ winning 4×100 relay team at the final SCIAC multi-dual meet of the year on Saturday.
>> Justin Higa, ‘Iolani ’11: The Puget Sound sophomore finished fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:48.68 at the JD Shotwell Invitational on Saturday.
>> Daniel Wagner, Mid-Pacific ’11: The Pacific (Ore.) sophomore finished second in the men’s 400-meter hurdles in a time of 56.45 seconds and took fourth in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.76 seconds at the Linfield Jenn Boyman Invitational on Saturday. Wagner also ran a leg on the 1,600-meter relay team that finished first in a season-best 3:24.86.
>> Trey Oshiro-Atabay, Mid-Pacific ’11: The Pacific (Ore.) sophomore ran a leg on the Boxers’ winning 1,600-meter relay team.
