Prosecutors declined to prosecute a 22-year-old Pearl Harbor sailor who allegedly threatened two women, ages 33 and 28, with a shotgun in his Salt Lake home.

Police said the man entered his home just before noon Thursday and was armed with a shotgun when he threatened his wife’s two friends, who were visiting with their two children.

The women fled with their children.

The man’s wife was upstairs during the incident, police said.

The couple emerged from the house, and police arrested the man at 12:51 p.m. on suspicion of four counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Prosecutors declined to charge the man on Friday.
