Answer: The customer does not need to have purchased it at Best Buy to recycle their electronics.
Q: Can anyone bring in an item for recycling, or do you have to purchase something first?
A: You do not need to make a purchase to bring in your recycle.
Q: What items will you accept for recycling?
A: We accept pretty much all forms of electronics (cellphones, computers, batteries). We also will accept small appliances and small TVs in the store. We also will accept large TVs and large appliances through our in-home delivery service.
Q: Do you accept items at the store only on certain days?
A: We will accept during opening hours seven days a week.
Q: What do you do with the items you have collected?
A: We send all electronics, small appliances and TVs back to the mainland to recycling facilities.
Large appliances are taken locally by a local recycling company.

A: Yes, it does cost us money to collect and ship recycle electronics.
We do this as part of our commitment responsibility to protecting our environment.
Q: How much do you collect at your two Oahu stores?
A: Over 275,000 pounds per year between both stores.
Q: Do you offer gift cards in exchange for some electronic devices?
A: At this time we do not. We offer (recycling) as a free service to our customers. We also offer a trade-in program that offers customer the ability to trade in a qualified electronic (product), and a customer can receive a credit to spend on their next purchase at Best Buy.
