LAS VEGAS >> The iHeartRadio Music Festival is returning to Las Vegas in September for a third year.

Officials with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment announced today that the two-day festival would be back at the MGM Grand resort on Sept. 20 and 21.

A musical lineup is expected to be announced this summer.

Last year’s event featured stars including Lil Wayne, Swedish House Mafia, Usher, Green Day, Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias, and Taylor Swift.

The 2013 event will also include the Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star campaign, allowing fans to vote on their favorite artist among 25 up-and-coming musicians. The winner of the contest will perform at the festival.

The festival is named after the mobile radio app that allows users to listen to Clear Channel stations or create their own custom stations.
