Mellow Antiques is hosting a pre-inventory sale with a "buy one, get 50 percent off a second item" offer on an item of equal or lesser value, through Aug. 31. This applies to fine and fashion jewelry and gift items, with some items excluded.
The store will be closed the week of Sept. 3 for inventory, but will be gearing up to return with an antique bead trunk show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 11-14, with beads dating as far back as 1920.

Artists’ work up for sale to aid Appleseed Center
Some of Hawaii’s top artists will offer their work for sale in a benefit for the Hawaii Appleseed Center for Law and Economic Justice from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Downtown restaurant in the Hawaii State Art Museum, 250 Hotel St.
The center provides advocacy for low-income individuals and communities through litigation, media, and legislative and administrative means.
Participating artists include Jonathan Busse, Spencer Chang, Vicky Chock, Snowden Hodges, Leighton Lam, Geoff Lee, Kelly Sueda, Nancy Taylor, Daven Hee, Norman Graffam, Lori Uyehara and others. Puamana will provide entertainment.
Admission, which includes dinner and drinks, is $75.
