A source at Academy of the Pacific confirmed Friday that the school has withdrawn its boys basketball varsity team from participation.

Declining numbers in the program, which reached the state quarterfinals last saeaon, led to the decision. An attempt to merge with Le Jardin’s team was considered, but did not come to fruition.

Student-athletes at Academy of the Pacific are still participating in water polo, cross country and intermediate boys volleyball.
