Five alleged gambling machines were confiscated after a search warrant was executed Tuesday at a Waialae Avenue arcade game room, the latest in a number of seizures over the past few months.

The five machines and various records were seized at Pure Luck located at 3012 Waialae Ave., according to a press release from the Attorney General’s Office. The seizure is part of an ongoing collaboration between the AG’s office, City Prosecutor’s office and other law enforcement agencies to crack down on illegal gambling operations.

“My office fully supports local law enforcement efforts to rid this state of enterprises that profit from illegal gambling in the state of Hawaii,” Attorney General David M. Louie said in a statement. “I commend Honolulu Prosecutor Keith Kaneshiro for his dedication and commitment to remove illegal gambling devices from Honolulu and to disrupt and take down these illegal criminal enterprises.” 

Lawyers for arcades in past seizures have contended the machines are not gambling devices.

Prior to Tuesday’s seizures, law enforcement officers arrested a man on drug-related charges and confiscated seven alleged gambling devices from Game Zone II at 1750 Kalakaua Ave. in Century Center in September.
