» Dave Reardon was the Star-Advertiser writer to whom Vili "Vili the Warrior" Fekoho spoke about the end of his run as mascot for the University of Hawaii Warriors. An "Off the News" item on Page A8 Tuesday misidentified the writer.

» A photo with a story about a pilot who pleaded guilty to airlifting deer and sheep between Maui and Hawaii island was that of Earl W. Campbell III, assistant field supervisor of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Pacific Islands office. A caption on Page A1 Tuesday erroneously identified him as pilot Thomas Leroy Hauptman. Hauptman faces a maximum fine of $100,000 and not $10,000 as reported. Also, axis deer were introduced to Hawaii in 1867 in Hono­lulu, then were shipped to Molokai in 1868. They were not introduced before Western contact as reported.

» Scam artists attempted to gain sensitive personal information or money from Roger Wong after his three-bedroom house in Hawaii Kai was put up for sale on the Prudential Advantage Realty website. A story on Aug. 9 incorrectly said the house was on sale on the Prudential Locations website. The two are completely independent real estate companies.
