Chaminade splits with Cal Baptist

Chaminade split a softball doubleheader with defending Pacific West Conference champion California Baptist on Wednesday at Central Oahu Regional Park.

Rachel Meyer hit a two-run homer to center in the second game to power the Silverswords (6-10, 2-4) to a 6-2 win.

The Lancers (14-9, 8-6) won the first game 5-1.

Dixie State sweeps Brigham Young-Hawaii

Michelle Duncan tossed a two-hitter in the first game of a softball doubleheader and Dixie State swept Brigham Young-Hawaii, 4-0 and 9-0, on Wednesday in Laie.

Mattie Snow pitched a three-hitter in the second game for the Red Storm (17-8, 8-4 PacWest).

Chandra Tewari had two of the five hits on the day for the Seasiders (5-19, 2-6).

HPU blanks Dixie State in baseball

Cory Yuh threw a five-hitter to lead Hawaii Pacific past Dixie State 7-0 in a Pacific West Conference baseball game on Wednesday at Hans L’Orange Park.

Derek Nakasato went 4-for-4 with four RBIs and Kale Sumner went 3-for-5 with two RBIs for the Sea Warriors (15-4-1, 6-1).

Yuto Kata had two hits for the Red Storm (12-4-1, 4-3-1).
