"Mourning Recipe": A grieving widower (Renji Ishibashi) and his daughter (Hiromi Nagasaku) are visited by a quirky young woman (Fumi Nikaido) who delivers a book containing the "recipes for happiness" left behind by the man’s wife. Soon the three are joined by Haru (Masaki Okada) as they follow the recipes for over 49 days. In Japanese with English subtitles.

"Brothers Hypnotic": The eight young men who make up the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble are all sons of Phil Cohran, a legendary Chicago trumpeter who turned his back on commercial music to pursue astral jazz (with Sun Ra), proto-funk and Black Power. Cohran’s ultimate avant-garde experiment, however, was his own sons, who lived an insular, communal existence on Chicago’s South Side with Cohran and their two mothers, complete with homemade clothes, veganism and invented holidays.

"Bombay Talkies": An anthology of four short films, each with a different Bollywood director, that celebrates 100 years of Indian cinema. The stories involve a 12-year-old boy who yearns to dance like his favorite Bollywood superstar, to the dismay of his father; a failed actor who struggles to make a living but gets one last chance at redemption; a gay intern who enters into an affair with his employer’s husband; and a young man who travels to Mumbai to fulfill his dying father’s final wish to meet a famous actor and to deliver a jar of pickles that could save his dad’s life. In Hindi with English subtitles.
